I try to keep up with popular music, but I get behind really quickly!
What are some songs that I need to listen to or that I need to add to my playlist?
Also, help me out with my knowledge of rap music. I usually don't listen to it because I usually can't play it at school, but I've recently become curious. What rappers should I listen to? What songs are your favorites? Why?

my favorite rapper is Drake, You should listen to his music, it is more appropiate than Lil Wayne's music :)

Well i love songs by Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Clarkson, and various country singers. Such as the following:
Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, and Blake Shelton. I have a wide variety of music that I like
I know most rap songs are very provocative,but there are some that a great and don't use bad language.I think you should look into some of these Mrs.Coleman.I know some good rap songs but at this time i cant think of any.
For me my favorite song is: "Suicidal" by: Sean Kingston.
Rap music is very creative, sometimes they may not use appropriate language. It is still very fun to listen.Will smith is my favorite rapper because he does not use provocative language. My favorite song by him is "Parents Just Don't Understand." Anyways I like rap, and it is my favorite kind of music.

I hate rap and all the songs are the same, also rap gives me a migraine.
But there is this one song that i would of loved to be on the playlist,"Disenchanted" by My Chemical Romance, also the song "Welcome to the Black Parade" is a pretty great song. :)
Well "One Direction" is a really good boy band. 'What Makes You Beautiful' is one popular,great song of there's. And some pretty good rappers are: Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, and Chris Brown. ;D
there is a song that i really enjoy called famous last words. it's not really the most popular song, considering it is pretty old, but the words are really powerful to me. sure, it may not be everyone's favorite song, and you may not even get the meaning behind the words, but to me, the words really say something important.
I think that you should check out some older rap songs because they have less bad language
Speaking from experience, you should get the entire Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album by the Beatles. It is awesome.
Putting rap on the playlist well... it's hard to fin dissent rap and I think it's kinda annoying and obnoxious but that is my opinion.
But the song "Famous Last Words" by My Chemical Romance is a great song, it isn't very popular and it's kinda old but the lyrics are very powerful and inspiring to me.Also the song "Disenchanted", also by My Chemical Romance, is very inspiring to me. Also Florance and The Machine is a great band to me, and their songs are very inspiring to me also.
I don't listen to much rap. But, I do listen to country and some really good singers that don't use cursing are: Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, And Luke Bryan. Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan talk about how a guy will be in love with a girl. (most of the time) Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert talk about memories from the past most of the time.
OH! the song "Sombody I Used To Know' is a great song! You should put it on your playlist!
I don't really listen to rap either, and I'm not really into recent music. You should look into music of past generations. They usually have more meaning, and that is important to me.
one direction is the best band ever and they make really great songs also i think "Payphone" is a really good song and "Boyfriend" by Justin Beiber
I agree that rap doesn't have the most appropriate vocabulary. However, for me some rap songs can have a special meaning to them. Some of Bruno Mars' songs and BOB's can display those kinds of messages. Just to name a couple of rappers.
The kind of music listen to ,depends on my mood.just remember everybody had their own taste :)
Rap isn't the most appropriate thing. :P But some of it isn't that bad. I like the song "Mirror" by Lil' Wayne featuring Bruno Mars. (:
I don't think you should just judge music by the profanity but by how the lyrics speak to you..but any way i like alternative rock bands like Fall Out Boy.
Mirror By Lil Wayne. It's talking about how he sees himself. Very deep.

Personally, I think rap doesn't count as music. It is just a person talking with a fake, electronic beat playing in the background.
I would listen to a variety of different genres, you can then experience many types of music. I like bands like Silverstein or Rise Against. But rap, I hate it.
What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction is a very upbeat song. I tend to listen to it while I am doing homework. :)

I like to listen to futuristic kinds of music. Kind of like techno but, not really. I also listen to old songs like lollipop and i want candy. I also like the songs: starships, waka laka, macarana, barbie girl(do not judge me), funhouse, halo/walking on sunshine mix by glee, and, thriller

I listen to a lot of different genres of music, but I honestly hate rap.The only kind of "rap" i have ever listened to is rapcore and rapmetal.Some good bands are hollywood undead and sleeping with sirens,but there are many more. :3

I think that some music from Journey should be put on your playlist. (I like older and newer music)
their is a bunch of rap but the one with the least cussing is lil wayne espically faded barely cussing
I love all of the variety! Everyone listens to so many different kinds of music. I agree with Michael that it's good to listen to music from past generations, not just our own, and I appreciate all the comments about music from other decades, such as Journey and the Beatles.
I also like to listen to current music, too, though, because I think it says so much about our culture and the culture of my students.
